Dongguan University of Technology Guangdong-Taiwan Institute of Industrial Science and Technology is the first cross-strait higher education cooperative program in Guangdong Province, jointly established by DGUT, Dongguan Taishang Yumiao Education Foundation, and Taiwanese universities. It is a key new engineering modern industrial college in the construction of a high-level university of science and engineering at DGUT.
The Guangdong-Taiwan College began enrollment in 2015 and was approved as a Guangdong Provincial Demonstration Industrial College in 2020. The college offers four undergraduate programs in five directions: Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Design, Computer Science and Design (Multimedia Direction), Computer Science and Design (Cross-border E-commerce Direction), and Economics and Finance. Through the “university-university” cooperation model, utilizing “dual-campus” resources, the college adopts the “2+1+1” and “1+N+N” cooperative education models for talent cultivation. Students study for three years on the mainland, and outstanding students may, on a voluntary basis, choose to study for one year in relevant programs at multiple Taiwanese partner universities. Particularly outstanding students may be recommended to study at high-level overseas universities, such as the University of New South Wales in Australia.
The college integrates and utilizes high-quality resources from cross-strait higher education, highlighting industry-oriented, industry-education integrated new engineering talent cultivation and social service characteristics. Based in Dongguan City, serving Guangdong Province and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area’s industrial development needs, it sets up programs to achieve strong synergy between advantageous programs and disciplines from cross-strait universities. It introduces the Taiwanese teaching management model, recruits full-time Taiwanese faculty to mainly undertake teaching and management, and cultivates cross-disciplinary high-quality applied innovative talents who are responsible, eager to learn, and dare to excel, adapting to modern industrial development needs. Graduates will receive graduation certificates and degree certificates from Dongguan University of Technology.

Tuition Fees: During the study period at the main campus of Dongguan University of Technology, the Guangdong-Taiwan College follows the standard tuition fee for general programs. When students study in Taiwan for one year, tuition, accommodation, and miscellaneous fees are charged by the Taiwanese partner university according to its standards (in 2021, the tuition fees of partner universities in Taiwan were approximately RMB 25,000-35,000 per academic year, fluctuating with exchange rates; living, accommodation, and miscellaneous fees not included).
